Below is a list of advantages of becoming a member of the National Cattle Dog Association . Two of the advantages we are most excited about are event insurance available for your sanctioned trials and the creation of a National Finals for dogs who have earned the most money from sanctioned trials in a calendar year.

   It has long been a dream of the founders of the LSCDF to offer a Grand Slam award to the person who wins the Futurity and  the Maturity in the same calendar year. Our hopes are to give $10,000.00 to someone who accomplishes that task. You will find that we are making that dream come true by growing toward that goal. 

   It is important to include the youth in our Association. You will find that we are making 
the education of our children and our grandchildren priority with scholarship dollars set aside. High profile National Events are important to the cattle dog industry. Advertising for national sponsors is a top priority.

1. National Events:  It has long been the policy of the LSCDF to reach out to other major events around the country in hopes of extending an arm of the Futurity to them. As our efforts become successful, and opportunity presents itself to our group, the LSCDF Association will host and sanction trials at these events. 

It is the policy of the LSCDF Association that one must be a member in good standings to participate in these events. The Lone Star Cattle Dog Futurity and Maturity will be a qualifiers for some of these events, such as National Cattle Dog Finals. Time & Place TBA. The LSCDF is hard at work securing contests at major National events around the country.  

Lifetime Dollar Accumulations of dogs from all sanctioned LSCDF Association events will be tabulated and posted on the LSCDF web page.

2. Grand Slam Award:    This is a special award for someone who may win the Futurity AND the Maturity with the same dog in the same calendar year. The award will start with $1,000.00.  In the event that the prize money is not awarded, the Grand Slam Jackpot increases at a rate of $1,000.00 per year, not to exceed $10,000.00.

The Grand Slam Award for Futurity/Maturity stands at $2,000.00

3. Membership Discounts:  Members of the LSCDF Association will enjoy discounts from participating sponsors. The LSCDFA has secured discounts from the following participating sponsors:

STOCKDOGS Magazine is offering members special discounts. Judith Shelby editor of this great magazine is offering discounts in her publication to members of the LSCDF Association. You will find up to date cow dog news in this monthly publication plus Futurity information from the Barks & Bites NewsLetter providing Futurity news as it happens.

5. Scholarship Program:  The LSCDF Association is setting aside Scholarship dollars for the children and grandchildren of its' members. As funds present themselves the LSCDF Association will award them to qualified children of the membership. 

6. Window Decals:  You will be proud to display the LSCDF Association 's insignia on your vehicle windshield indicating your involvement in the world's largest supporter and promoter in the breeding of Cattle Dogs. 

7. Membership ID Card:  Your Personal Identification Card is proof that you are a card carrying member of the most recognized cattle dog association in the world that promotes the breeding, training and showcasing of working cattle dogs.
